The late Frank Sanford - Conté pencil

It's sad when someone leaves us. Frank was a great guy and we all admired him. He lived in a one-street town that he built himself in the Mohave Desert

They had to truck water into the property, and with the waste water they grew a tight little garden of fruit and flowers. Frank died many years ago. Wife Lorna passed away recently - a super talented writer. We miss them.

Throwback "Sugarcane Maui"

Everytime I enter the kitchen I pass this little painting in the hallway. It's a throwback from our trip to Maui a couple years ago. It's tiny. If you want it, email me at kyknoord@outlook.com

"Boathouse" pastel

McMicking Point, a little-known beach in Victoria BC. I used pastels. (Ken Faulks and Delia Sansom were also painting here on that day). I like pastels and will do more of them I think, even tho' they don't seem to get the same attention as oils or the other trad media. Press the image for a bigger view

'Towhee Territory'

Last of the November colour
A sunny spot out of the cold breeze
Talking with all the Towhees
They pop out of the cover
Seeking that funny accent
That keeps answering their calls

But its just a bird lover
